I find #languages – pronunciations, nuances, #etymology, et al – fascinating; the #Otherwords #PBS series is right up my alley. & it’s #ADHDFriendly, as the videos are super engaging.

#TIL that there’s a distinct connection between the #dialects of Boston, Nu Yawk, the Deep South, all centered around the letter R.

Also, this video might help you roll your Rs if that skill escapes you.

Arp
Hi, I’m Arp! I got diagnosed with ADHD at 49, and now I'm trying to figure out what's me, what's masking, and just about everything else. I make comics (when imposter syndrome isn't striking) and write about life as a creative Indian-American. I’m self-taught, self-employed, and self-flagellating.

Duh, file under ‘No Shit’. The real problem is that the behemoths #Meta and #Google love the revenue involved and are fascist themselves as they need to steal our data to make money. Also: even before the #GOP took their masks off, #America didn’t give a rat’s ass about the good of society. https://english.elpais.com/technology/2024-06-08/cutting-off-the-advertising-revenue-of-websites-that-spread-hoaxes-is-the-best-way-to-end-misinformation.html #Misinformation #Disinfo #Hoaxes #USPolitics

zebisko in the house!
Finally found a pic of my all-time favorite #Halloween#costume: a Generic Bad Guy from a #1970s#Bollywood masala film! I was most definitely named ‘Zebisko’ (my favorite bad guy name, ever, from one of my favorite movies ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’), thrifted the green polyester jacket & red 70s tux shirt, and sadly did not grow the #fumanchu (it’s fake hair & spirit gum). I wish I still had that polyester jacket 🙁 #FunFact: Masala films blend multiple genres into one movie: action, romance, comedy, drama, and – of course – musicals; the best were made in the late #70s and early #80s. #Films are usually 3h long so you get your money’s worth and there is literally something for everybody. Pointless sidenote: people wore #bellbottoms in India throughout the 80s, and as late as 1994 I met a guy in the Bombay airport who dressed like Neil Diamond from the 70s ...

I’m naming my adhd blog ‘What Was I Doing Again?’ I say that multiple times a day, except it usually starts with ‘WTF’ and I didn’t think that would be a great name or URL 😆

I can’t count the number of times someone asked me to stop pacing because ‘it made them nervous.’ Has that happened to you?

Text:
The seasons in North Carolina
- Tree pollen: March-May
- Grass pollen: April-July
- Weed pollen: August-October

Beneath the text is a simple table with each column as a month and each row as Tree, Grass, or Weed. There are X's matching the months where each type of pollen is prevalent.
Just finished #debriefing myself after my trip to the allergist and this is part of my #notes. I’ve been an inveterate note-taker for years and discovered #PKM (Personal Knowledge Management) last year while searching for #ADHD oriented methods of organization & productivity. That led me to the amazing #Obsidian app (which is shockingly free for being fully featured), which took my note-taking to another level. I do gain some satisfaction from creating informative visuals 🙂
