I recently fulfilled a lifelong dream by running all the way, in the wrong direction, on a people mover in an #airport. When I was a kid I felt too self-conscious but not anymore 😆 I didn’t record the run (I just wanted to enjoy it) but the video has some outtakes, including my kid who had never been on a people mover before. Sometimes #adhd impulsiveness is good for a quick little bonding experience with a kid 🙂 (I did however wait til it was not in use before the run.) #DreamsComeTrue
I remember the day #KurtCobain died so clearly. It was April 5, 1994; I was a senior at #NorthwesternUniversity. I had no classes that day. I woke up, showered, and put on combat boots, brown linen pants, black t shirt & my #SocialDistortion Skelly hat. (Why I recall my outfit I have no idea.) I heard on the radio that they ‘found a body’ in Cobain’s house & didn’t think much of it. I figured somebody had OD’d and maybe it was him – but prolly not because he should be happy with his phenomenal success, no? I walked over to a friends’ apartment. We were hanging out & drinking MGD when the real news came out. We were stunned. I have no recollection what the rest of the day was like, what we talked about or anything. UPDATE: the About page is done! I know I’m in serious #hyperfocus mode when I skip my morning leisure reading time and go straight to working on a project. In this case, it’s my almost-finished adhd blog. I have to tighten up the #CSS (ie styles/look/feel), write an About page & welcome post, and optimize the site for performance. It’s not going to get done today, but there will be progress.
One of the true joys of #MiddleAge: waking up at 4:30am because you worked out a little too hard yesterday, your body aches all over, and somehow that shit wakes you up 🤦🏽♂️
Is there any interest in a series of #WordPress / #GeneratePress / #WooCommerce #videos where I build a print-on-demand #merch site from scratch? I always want to share what I know but the lack of time usually puts the kibosh on it.
Failing #DollarStores is a good thing. Now if we could only change the entire concept of #stocks and #shareholders to prevent a ridiculous focus on growth & numbers to building sustainable #businesses that pay #LivingWages and are not focused on squeezing profit from a stone.
