Just shared this with my kids. It is good to know how long political things take when it seems like nothing is happening.

It took Biden & his team 6 months to get through Mike Johnson’s skull. Politics & diplomacy are delicate processes and things are rarely as simple as we wish. This was simple vs how complex & multifaceted the situation with Israel, Iran, et al is.

This is also why experience matters. Young pols might talk the talk but getting things done is a completely different ballgame.

One of the hardest parts of being an #entrepreneur with #adhd is needing some positive feedback (aka #dopamine) to helo follow through on complex #projects. I can break things down into a zillion steps and chip away, but pouring everything in without getting anything back makes each subsequent step harder & harder. Any frustrations along the way dealing with things out of my control, like vendors & their ‘support’ just pushes me over the edge. #neurodivergent

Questions regarding #webmention & #Mastodon replies: Does it only sync replies to a toot that has a link in it? In my brief testing today I noticed that of the 3 comments I made to this toot, only the 2 that were direct replies to the OP were synced back to #WordPress. Also: is it possible to alter the incoming webmentions? It would be cool if there were a way to strip hashtags that are not in a sentence (ie the ones at the ends of toots).

This was one of the most adorable things I’ve seen in ages – a youngun discovers that she loves #ProWrestling after having managed to avoid it for years. I can see the avoiding part, I met all of 1 friend in college who enjoyed it (the rest of them were snooty dicks desperate for alternative street cred*). This also hit home as our 14yo watched a little wrestling with me over the past year and found that they liked #IyoSky (and now #Asuka too) because of their style & attitude. (Not coincidentally, they’re into manga & anime so I suspect they’re like crazy anime characters come to life.) They watched both nights of ‘Mania with me after getting invested in Cody finishing his story and buying into all the various storylines. And also thinking that Rhea Ripley is cool as shit. In other news: currently obsessed with the Green Day demo song ‘Black Eyeliner’ from the 25th anniversary (jfc the time has past) release of Nimrod. Some songs just catch me from the first listen and hit me deep. Maybe some of it is the familiarity since part of the chorus ended up in ‘Church on Sunday.’ But usually the combo of the music & melodies hit me, and the lyrics do on a subconscious level until I learn the actual lyrics. PS I’m procrastinating
