Just shared this with my kids. It is good to know how long political things take when it seems like nothing is happening.

It took Biden & his team 6 months to get through Mike Johnson’s skull. Politics & diplomacy are delicate processes and things are rarely as simple as we wish. This was simple vs how complex & multifaceted the situation with Israel, Iran, et al is.

This is also why experience matters. Young pols might talk the talk but getting things done is a completely different ballgame.

Hi, I’m Arp! I got diagnosed with ADHD at 49, and now I'm trying to figure out what's me, what's masking, and just about everything else. I make comics (when imposter syndrome isn't striking) and write about life as a creative Indian-American. I’m self-taught, self-employed, and self-flagellating.

the primevals 2023
I started watching #ThePrimevals last night and it is an AWESOME BLAST FROM THE PAST! The #stopmotion #animation is exquisite and everything about the production – the shots, the blocking, the color grading – feels like a #film made before 1982. And it’s a straight up B #movie with tacky dialogue and bad acting. I’m looking forward to watching the rest, apparently the story gets batshit crazy.

esc2024
Time to catch up on the #Eurovision semis after a ridiculously busy week! Unlike last year I’ve only listened to each song once so the performances are going to be like new songs for me, except for #Croatia (the only melody that stayed in my head).

brian eno creativity
We need more focus on ‘collective intelligence’ vs individual genius. Encouragement of collaboration & cross-pollination. Being around other creatives, in varied disciplines, is meaningful for the growth of one’s own #creativity. I recognize now that I lacked creative peers for most of my life so I was always flying solo, not getting ideas from others nor getting any useful feedback. My friends would sit around and watch movies while I preferred wandering the Metropolitan Museum of Art and seeing what caught my eye. #BrianEno #POSSE Photo credit

This #Caturday, have a #cat butt. I’m also testing writing in #WordPress first & crossposting to #Mastodon; I added some #IndieWeb functionality to pull comments to posts like this into #WP. #FunFact: my #Skyrim character name was Catbutt and yes, I was #Khajiit. #Cats #CatsOfMastodon #CaturdayEverday

One benefit of #thrifting is finding stuff I like that I would never have buying new since I don’t shop for clothes anymore. We found a pair of #LuckyBrand #pants in my size and I now have a favorite brand of pants. They’re straight leg, soft (kinda like brushed twill), stretchy (but don’t look like stretchy plastic), and so light and comfortable that it barely felt that I had pants on. Their only flaw is a lack of a dedicated celphone pocket, but I still want a few pairs for regular use. And since we were in the mall yesterday as our 18yo looked for places to apply for jobs, I noticed that straight leg & boot cut pants are back, and many have celphone pockets. I need to stock up on those for the next 25y before they go out of style again.

#TMNT was OUTSTANDING! Purty #art, well written, plenty of feels, great #characters, great #CharacterDesign – and it was FUNNY. The #90s #HipHop was cherry on the cake, with #ODB an unexpected surprise. #WuTang
