This is my favorite #quote from #JosephCampbell (and one of my favorite #quotes, period). It made me think much more deeply about #mythology and its’ purpose, as well as its’ relevance to life and humanity (and, of course, myself).

Modern life is so distracting; it’s hard to be truly connected with ourselves. Maybe mythology is a solution.

People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances within our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive. That’s what it’s all finally about, and that’s what these clues help us to find within ourselves.

Minibus with Kurt Cobain Portrait - Bhaktapur - Nepal Date:28 March 2014, 23:26
I remember the day #KurtCobain died so clearly. It was April 5, 1994; I was a senior at #NorthwesternUniversity. I had no classes that day. I woke up, showered, and put on combat boots, brown linen pants, black t shirt & my #SocialDistortion Skelly hat. (Why I recall my outfit I have no idea.) I heard on the radio that they ‘found a body’ in Cobain’s house & didn’t think much of it. I figured somebody had OD’d and maybe it was him – but prolly not because he should be happy with his phenomenal success, no? I walked over to a friends’ apartment. We were hanging out & drinking MGD when the real news came out. We were stunned. I have no recollection what the rest of the day was like, what we talked about or anything. I wish he’d gotten the help he needed. Photo by Adam Jones. ...

TIL that #Obsidian has a code inspector just like browsers, so I was able to fix the appearance of some #Todoist #tasks and make it look *exactly* as I wanted to, which filled me with much #joy. Obsidian is truly personalizable – maybe I need to learn how to make plug-ins to extend functionality (#coding has always been so abstract to me that I’ve never been able to follow through, I can do front end dev only because I like seeing changes visually). If you’re feeling limited by simple #notes apps like Apple Notes, I highly #recommend #ObsidianApp. It can be as simple or as complex as you like, and you can access your vault on phone, tablet, and desktop easily. #PKM #PersonalKnowledgeManagement #Recommendations

#America’s zoning laws really fucked over everybody except corporations and the wealthy. You’d think as a young nation that we could have improved on the great cities of the world but no – we did worse, just like we’ve done in everything except for adding #socialism to professional #sports. Check out @notjustbikes@notjustbikes.com for lots of great videos that will make you wonder wtf is wrong with America.

Logan Paul & Rhea Ripley are wearing baggy 2000 era pants now. We can finally stick a fork in the skinny jeans era 🥳🥳🥳 #WWE #ProWrestling

As is common with folks who have adhd, I find meditation to be extremely challenging. But this short segment by Andrew Huberman makes me a bit more intrigued than the usual ‘don’t think about anything’ that meditation seems to be. The idea of ‘watching’ my thoughts & feelings go makes more sense than what I’ve ready on how to meditate before (maybe I read just that and glossed over it).
