This #quote from #JosephCampbell came up on my #birthday years ago but this year it hits differently. It put into words what I felt but couldn’t articulate. After recently reading how #ADHD brains mature at a much different rate than neurotypical brains, it’s a little 🤯🤯🤯.

Maybe #mythology hearkened to me on a much deeper level than I ever expected. My understanding of how different I am from ‘the norm’ has only happened in the past 2 years. Yet I always celebrated being different, and decided long ago that striving to be like everyone else was a Bad Thing.

It still took years for me to listen to myself (it was a gradual process), but that’s fine. Little shifts in perspective add up over time until one day you find that you’ve done a 180 and are swimming against the flow.

Take your time. Be true to yourself. You’ve got this.

Just shared this with my kids. It is good to know how long political things take when it seems like nothing is happening. It took Biden & his team 6 months to get through Mike Johnson’s skull. Politics & diplomacy are delicate processes and things are rarely as simple as we wish. This was simple vs how complex & multifaceted the situation with Israel, Iran, et al is. This is also why experience matters. #Merchize’s support tries, sorta. But they suffer from the same issues that plague most #Asian nations who provide support to American customers: The last point I confirmed when working with some #Indian web devs year back. One day I asked them to change the color of text on a page to white, which they proudly did – except the background of the page was white 🤦🏽‍♂️ In any case: Merchize support tries but they use #Facebook or a #chatbot on their website for support. They do not have a ticketing system, and thus they repeatedly ask me questions I answered days before. It’s just half-assed. They try, but they’re going through the motions.

If you’re wondering whether a #LowFat or #LowCarb #diet is better, wonder no more with these randomized control trials. I’ve gone hardcore #vegan and hardcore #paleo and only in the latter did weight just melt off within the first month with no exercise at all. It’s not coincidental that the obesity rate in the US shot up after a low fat diet was recommended in 1977. I’m currently researching a #keto diet for both longevity & mental health.

I recently fulfilled a lifelong dream by running all the way, in the wrong direction, on a people mover in an #airport. When I was a kid I felt too self-conscious but not anymore 😆 I didn’t record the run (I just wanted to enjoy it) but the video has some outtakes, including my kid who had never been on a people mover before. Sometimes #adhd impulsiveness is good for a quick little bonding experience with a kid 🙂 (I did however wait til it was not in use before the run.) #DreamsComeTrue
