TIL that #Obsidian has a code inspector just like browsers, so I was able to fix the appearance of some #Todoist #tasks and make it look *exactly* as I wanted to, which filled me with much #joy.

Obsidian is truly personalizable – maybe I need to learn how to make plug-ins to extend functionality (#coding has always been so abstract to me that I’ve never been able to follow through, I can do front end dev only because I like seeing changes visually).

If you’re feeling limited by simple #notes apps like Apple Notes, I highly #recommend #ObsidianApp. It can be as simple or as complex as you like, and you can access your vault on phone, tablet, and desktop easily.

#DaftPunk mixed their first two albums on a JVC #boombox like this. All the standard advice to ‘don’t mix on this or that’ and they used a 10 year old boombox with a simple graphic equalizer. YouTube served this up to me this morning and watching it was trippy AF! Also head-wobble inducing, I can’t help myself when I find myself agreeing with someone speaking Bengali or Hindi 😆 I am #Bengali and didn’t speak English until I was 5, despite being born in the US. We spent 1/2 the year in #Kolkata #India until I was 8 and were immersed in the #NewYorkCity #Indian community when in the States. The #Bangla voice actors seemed pretty true to the Western characters, except for Peter B. Parker, whose exhaustion was ignored in favor of a happy-go-lucky dad. They changed his tired “I have a baby” to a happy “Yes, a very sweet baby!” 🤦🏽‍♂️ I want to see this in Bengali, to see the different choices they made for acting & emotions. And maybe with the captions on, because I have the vocabulary of a 10 year ...

Finally found a pic of my all-time favorite #Halloween#costume: a Generic Bad Guy from a #1970s#Bollywood masala film! I was most definitely named ‘Zebisko’ (my favorite bad guy name, ever, from one of my favorite movies ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’), thrifted the green polyester jacket & red 70s tux shirt, and sadly did not grow the #fumanchu (it’s fake hair & spirit gum). I wish I still had that polyester jacket 🙁 #FunFact: Masala films blend multiple genres into one movie: action, romance, comedy, drama, and – of course – musicals; the best were made in the late #70s and early #80s. #Films are usually 3h long so you get your money’s worth and there is literally something for everybody. Pointless sidenote: people wore #bellbottoms in India throughout the 80s, and as late as 1994 I met a guy in the Bombay airport who dressed like Neil Diamond from the 70s ...
