If you’re wondering whether a #LowFat or #LowCarb #diet is better, wonder no more with these randomized control trials. I’ve gone hardcore #vegan and hardcore #paleo and only in the latter did weight just melt off within the first month with no exercise at all. It’s not coincidental that the obesity rate in the US shot up after a low fat diet was recommended in 1977. I’m currently researching a #keto diet for both longevity & mental health.
This #quote from #JosephCampbell came up on my #birthday years ago but this year it hits differently. It put into words what I felt but couldn’t articulate. After recently reading how #ADHD brains mature at a much different rate than neurotypical brains, it’s a little 🤯🤯🤯. Maybe #mythology hearkened to me on a much deeper level than I ever expected. My understanding of how different I am from ‘the norm’ has only happened in the past 2 years. Yet I always celebrated being different, and decided long ago that striving to be like everyone else was a Bad Thing. It still took years for me to listen to myself (it was a gradual process), but that’s fine. A lot of Claire Paniccia’s marketing advice resonates with me because her thing is helping neurodiverse entrepreneurs. As one of her target audience, I’ve tried a lot of Conventional Marketing Wisdom that (surprise) failed and (no surprise) just added to the reasons I have to self-flagellate while making connecting with people feel more like a chore than an interesting or fun thing to do. This bit from her latest newsletter (the image) hits the spot. The idea that I don’t text a friend at a specific time every week is so common sense yet .
