Questions regarding #webmention & #Mastodon replies:

Does it only sync replies to a toot that has a link in it? In my brief testing today I noticed that of the 3 comments I made to this toot, only the 2 that were direct replies to the OP were synced back to #WordPress.

Also: is it possible to alter the incoming webmentions? It would be cool if there were a way to strip hashtags that are not in a sentence (ie the ones at the ends of toots).

This is my favorite #quote from #JosephCampbell (and one of my favorite #quotes, period). It made me think much more deeply about #mythology and its’ purpose, as well as its’ relevance to life and humanity (and, of course, myself). Modern life is so distracting; it’s hard to be truly connected with ourselves. Maybe mythology is a solution. People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances within our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive. I met an old friend from college for the first time in over a decade last weekend, and it was good to see that some things don’t change, despite time & distance. Recently they invited me to join a group chat w/ other college acquaintances, which I declined because why would I willfully chat with people just because we went to the same school for a bit? My friend said that everyone else had given up and accepted their lot in life. Most are neurotypical and some judged me for not studying or being serious enough. Here we go again: the common #adhd morning dilemma of ‘Have I taken my meds or not?’ Thanks to my lovelyshort term #memory, I have to piece together my morning and see where I deviated from The Sequence of Things, because any deviation can make me forget a step. (this need for a specific order of actions makes me wonder how far along the spectrum I might be).

zebisko in the house!
Finally found a pic of my all-time favorite #Halloween#costume: a Generic Bad Guy from a #1970s#Bollywood masala film! I was most definitely named ‘Zebisko’ (my favorite bad guy name, ever, from one of my favorite movies ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’), thrifted the green polyester jacket & red 70s tux shirt, and sadly did not grow the #fumanchu (it’s fake hair & spirit gum). I wish I still had that polyester jacket 🙁 #FunFact: Masala films blend multiple genres into one movie: action, romance, comedy, drama, and – of course – musicals; the best were made in the late #70s and early #80s. #Films are usually 3h long so you get your money’s worth and there is literally something for everybody. Pointless sidenote: people wore #bellbottoms in India throughout the 80s, and as late as 1994 I met a guy in the Bombay airport who dressed like Neil Diamond from the 70s ...

  2. @ArpComics The technical details are covered by @crepels in his series on Understanding ActivityPub <span>https://</span><span>seb.jambor.dev/posts/understan</span><span>ding-activitypub/</span></a”>1, but the gist is that a reply will only be relayed to OP if it’s a direct reply or OP is mentioned; otherwise a given toot (even if it’s a reply) will be sent to the author’s followers’ servers only.

    (As I understand it; #activitypub experts are welcome to come correct me.)
