I just realized that #Nemo’s performance on the balancing thingies was a physical representation of their thoughts, feelings, & journey. They went from having trouble balancing on them (like societal expectations vs their dysmorphia) to being in control (breaking the code) 🤯🤯🤯

Sunday morning coffee reading: this caught my eye at the #library yesterday and the description sealed the deal. It’s weird, and funny, and interesting – and again makes me wonder why I can’t draw with imperfections like it. I wish I’d been exposed to a wider world of #comics when I was younger, outside of #Tintin. This #quote from #JosephCampbell came up on my #birthday years ago but this year it hits differently. It put into words what I felt but couldn’t articulate. After recently reading how #ADHD brains mature at a much different rate than neurotypical brains, it’s a little 🤯🤯🤯. Maybe #mythology hearkened to me on a much deeper level than I ever expected. My understanding of how different I am from ‘the norm’ has only happened in the past 2 years. Yet I always celebrated being different, and decided long ago that striving to be like everyone else was a Bad Thing. It still took years for me to listen to myself (it was a gradual process), but that’s fine. Little shifts in perspective add up over time until one day you find that you’ve done a 180 and are swimming against the flow. To all my fellow #ADHDers & #neurodiverse peeps out ...

#America’s zoning laws really fucked over everybody except corporations and the wealthy. You’d think as a young nation that we could have improved on the great cities of the world but no – we did worse, just like we’ve done in everything except for adding #socialism to professional #sports.
