YouTube served this up to me this morning and watching it was trippy AF! Also head-wobble inducing, I can’t help myself when I find myself agreeing with someone speaking Bengali or Hindi 😆

I am #Bengali and didn’t speak English until I was 5, despite being born in the US. We spent 1/2 the year in #Kolkata #India until I was 8 and were immersed in the #NewYorkCity #Indian community when in the States.

The #Bangla voice actors seemed pretty true to the Western characters, except for Peter B. Parker, whose exhaustion was ignored in favor of a happy-go-lucky dad. They changed his tired “I have a baby” to a happy “Yes, a very sweet baby!” 🤦🏽‍♂️

I want to see this in Bengali, to see the different choices they made for acting & emotions. And maybe with the captions on, because I have the vocabulary of a 10 year old #Indian kid.

Ad-driven social media platforms are willing to tolerate monumental volumes of abusive users. They’ve discovered the same thing the Mainstream Media did: negative emotions grip people’s attention harder than positive ones. Hate and fear drives engagement, and engagement drives ad impressions. #Mastodon is not an ad-driven platform. There is absolutely zero incentives to let awful people run amok in the name of engagement. @malwaretech@infosec.exchange My microcosmic validation of this is my wife asking 2-3 times in the past month if I’m aware of [something negative driving engagement] and my response has been ‘Nope, I don’t see anyone sharing that on the #Fediverse.’ I still use #BigMammoth (thx to @jensorensen@mastodon.social for that 😆) to keep up on politics daily so I’m aware of what’s going on. I cracked 2 big nuts regarding the #merch #business I’m working on: 1) using one Affinity template file to create multiple products AND their #mockups, and 2) using #Google Sheets, Docs, and Scripts to create copy for every product (title, categories, tags, & descriptions for each type of merch). Ideally I’d be able to pull the data into #WordPress, but that’s a nut to be cracked at a later date, once I’m done pulling a #BarryHorowitz.

Every 10-14 days I have a night where I get 3-4h of #sleep. I wonder if it’s triggered by stress or what (I have an 8am doc appt and decent sleep was a must). Mostly I wish I could sleep through the night more consistently, this has gotta be an adhd thing.
