Just shared this with my kids. It is good to know how long political things take when it seems like nothing is happening. It took Biden & his team 6 months to get through Mike Johnson’s skull. Politics & diplomacy are delicate processes and things are rarely as simple as we wish. This was simple vs how complex & multifaceted the situation with Israel, Iran, et al is. This is also why experience matters. It’s Friday, which means my #adhd brain is tired from the week as I worked a little too long on a couple of days. It’s a lot easier to get distracted on Friday morning and a lot less motivating to get the day going. I try to limit my hours of work per day but I’ve been experimenting with change the last couple of weeks. Maybe it’s worth it to get what I can get done on some days, striking while the iron/hyperfocus is hot? It must all even out in the end. Or this could simply be the result of 3 straight nights of mediocre sleep. #ADHDer #AdultADHD
This was one of the most adorable things I’ve seen in ages – a youngun discovers that she loves #ProWrestling after having managed to avoid it for years. I can see the avoiding part, I met all of 1 friend in college who enjoyed it (the rest of them were snooty dicks desperate for alternative street cred*). This also hit home as our 14yo watched a little wrestling with me over the past year and found that they liked #IyoSky (and now #Asuka too) because of their style & attitude. (Not coincidentally, they’re into manga & anime so I suspect they’re like crazy anime characters come to life.) They watched both nights of ‘Mania with me after getting invested in Cody finishing his story and buying into all the various storylines. And also thinking that Rhea Ripley is cool as shit. They totally get what a unique storytelling experience it ...

#DaftPunk mixed their first two albums on a JVC #boombox like this. All the standard advice to ‘don’t mix on this or that’ and they used a 10 year old boombox with a simple graphic equalizer.
