TIL that #Obsidian has a code inspector just like browsers, so I was able to fix the appearance of some #Todoist #tasks and make it look *exactly* as I wanted to, which filled me with much #joy.

Obsidian is truly personalizable – maybe I need to learn how to make plug-ins to extend functionality (#coding has always been so abstract to me that I’ve never been able to follow through, I can do front end dev only because I like seeing changes visually).

If you’re feeling limited by simple #notes apps like Apple Notes, I highly #recommend #ObsidianApp. It can be as simple or as complex as you like, and you can access your vault on phone, tablet, and desktop easily.

Hi, I’m Arp! I got diagnosed with ADHD at 49, and now I'm trying to figure out what's me, what's masking, and just about everything else. I make comics (when imposter syndrome isn't striking) and write about life as a creative Indian-American. I’m self-taught, self-employed, and self-flagellating.

#Merchize’s support tries, sorta. But they suffer from the same issues that plague most #Asian nations who provide support to American customers: The last point I confirmed when working with some #Indian web devs year back. One day I asked them to change the color of text on a page to white, which they proudly did – except the background of the page was white 🤦🏽‍♂️ In any case: Merchize support tries but they use #Facebook or a #chatbot on their website for support. They do not have a ticketing system, and thus they repeatedly ask me questions I answered days before. It’s just half-assed. They try, but they’re going through the motions.

After just reacting to requests & urgency in my work for ages I decided to sit down & (over several days) and write out the answers to a bunch of questions that I need to know. What do I like to do? What do I want to do? And I have to write this all by hand because, for whatever reason, when I write stuff down is when I do my best thinking. Below is the list of questions I came up with, in case it helps other #adhd / #AuADHD folks. I’m also proud of myself that I came up with these questions WITHOUT DOING ANY RESEARCH. I’m prone to Gathering Info so I can make the best decisions not make mistakes or be wrong. This time I just trusted in myself, I’ve researched plenty, I know this stuff, and it doesn’t have to be perfect. The Questions What ...

A lot of Claire Paniccia’s marketing advice resonates with me because her thing is helping neurodiverse entrepreneurs. As one of her target audience, I’ve tried a lot of Conventional Marketing Wisdom that (surprise) failed and (no surprise) just added to the reasons I have to self-flagellate while making connecting with people feel more like a chore than an interesting or fun thing to do. This bit from her latest newsletter (the image) hits the spot. The idea that I don’t text a friend at a specific time every week is so common sense yet . I’d much rather have a friend-like relationship with people interested in my efforts than be a robotic provider of content. If you dig this, go check her out. She’s the only newsletter I subscribe to that I actually read. ClairaPaniccia.com

YouTube served this up to me this morning and watching it was trippy AF! Also head-wobble inducing, I can’t help myself when I find myself agreeing with someone speaking Bengali or Hindi 😆 I am #Bengali and didn’t speak English until I was 5, despite being born in the US. We spent 1/2 the year in #Kolkata #India until I was 8 and were immersed in the #NewYorkCity #Indian community when in the States. The #Bangla voice actors seemed pretty true to the Western characters, except for Peter B. Parker, whose exhaustion was ignored in favor of a happy-go-lucky dad. They changed his tired “I have a baby” to a happy “Yes, a very sweet baby!” 🤦🏽‍♂️ I want to see this in Bengali, to see the different choices they made for acting & emotions. And maybe with the captions on, because I have the vocabulary of a 10 year ...

A belated #TuneTuesday as yesterday got away from me. The #FunSong theme made me think immediately of my newest #music obsession, #ElectricCallboy and their song We Got The Moves. It’s a song about partying and they don’t take themselves seriously in the least. 20yo me would likely sneer at ‘commercialism’ or some other nonesuch but 50yo me enjoys the hell out of this.

#TIL that #WordPress’ #Gutenberg block editor has built-in character & word counting abilities – just click on that little blue ℹ️ in a circle icon and voila. I needed to know this info as I’m testing crossposting here from #WP, & that toot should have posted in the time it took me to write this. Gutenberg has been around for over 4y & I managed to forget this existed (thx #adhd 🧠).
