TIL that #Obsidian has a code inspector just like browsers, so I was able to fix the appearance of some #Todoist #tasks and make it look *exactly* as I wanted to, which filled me with much #joy.

Obsidian is truly personalizable – maybe I need to learn how to make plug-ins to extend functionality (#coding has always been so abstract to me that I’ve never been able to follow through, I can do front end dev only because I like seeing changes visually).

If you’re feeling limited by simple #notes apps like Apple Notes, I highly #recommend #ObsidianApp. It can be as simple or as complex as you like, and you can access your vault on phone, tablet, and desktop easily.

Hi, I’m Arp! I got diagnosed with ADHD at 49, and now I'm trying to figure out what's me, what's masking, and just about everything else. I make comics (when imposter syndrome isn't striking) and write about life as a creative Indian-American. I’m self-taught, self-employed, and self-flagellating.

More Notes & Asides

Just completed a #WeeklyReview for the first time ever, after spending a couple of weeks wrangling with #Obsidian & the Templater plugin (and reading too many how to posts from people who all do things differently). I’m finding daily notes helpful for thinking about what I want to get done and clear my head early in the day, and the weekly review is something I’ve been putting off for a couple of years until I had a process that made sense (mad props to Obsidian for being the vehicle for this) #Productivity is such a challenge with #adhd because 99% of the neurotypical advice just doesn’t work for us. So it’s a struggle not only finding something that might work, but tweaking it until it makes sense for my specific brain. #PKM #Neurodiversity #AdultADHD #ADHDer

There's nothing like having the #motivation to do something and then running into repeated unexpected issues that suck the motivation right out of you.
There’s nothing like having the #motivation to do something and then running into repeated unexpected issues that suck the motivation right out of you. I wish all of my technology would just fucking work consistently so I can focus on figuring out my processes for productivity instead of troubleshooting something that was working fine 2 days ago 🤬🤬🤬

This thing is ridiculous AND I MUST HAVE IT. I’ve long wanted a hardware sampler and the #TeenageEngineering –133 k.o.2 caught my attention for being feature-packed while being usable with batteries to reduce friction. But a version with #medieval #samples takes the cake! Years back I was really into #AgeOfEmpires and #Civilization so I’m tempted to use this to make a soundtrack for the different parts of my life (like when discovering agriculture or when I want to stab a neighboring principality in the back). Sooooooo I stopped taking my #ADHD meds almost 2 weeks ago. I was feeling less & less motivated over time and running more on autopilot; I realized that happened slowly over the last 2 years. Without the #adderall my mind is a lot fuzzier, my #timeBlindness is raging, and my short-term #memory is Fd – but I also feel happier and more present. The only negative is I actually get irritated and/or crabby now, but it’s on me to be aware of my feelings.

If you’re a creator with #adhd and have a #website and struggle with what to focus on, this is a super helpful video on how to handle your wide-ranging #interests & passions. The big takeaway for me is simply not putting passions that are not meant to be income-producing in the site navigation.

Just realized that I’ve been able to #workout consistently because when I have the internal ‘Do I really want to work out today’ debate, I do it while feeding the animals. By the time they’ve got food & water, I’ve convinced myself to at least do a shorter workout. Today I’m up a bit late but I’m achy af due to a weekend of yard work. But I need a #mobility workout to feel better. #ADHD #ADHDTips
