Just realized that I’ve been able to #workout consistently because when I have the internal ‘Do I really want to work out today’ debate, I do it while feeding the animals. By the time they’ve got food & water, I’ve convinced myself to at least do a shorter workout. Today I’m up a bit late but I’m achy af due to a weekend of yard work. But I need a #mobility workout to feel better. #ADHD #ADHDTips
#GodzillaMinusOne lived up to the hype. In the first 10 minutes I thought it might be the best opening of any #Gojira #film but by the end it became The Best Godzilla #Movie Ever. Most #kaiju #movies focus on the action and other cool stuff but this one made him terrifying on a human level. I got jolted repeatedly when he attacked, it felt so visceral. The bar has been reset, and I’m dying to see what comes next.
I have watched too much #Survivor in my life. It’s a guilty pleasure 🫣. But learning I have #adhd made me realize that I would SUCK at it cuz I can’t play the social game. But how would Survivor go if ALL contestants were #neurodiverse? What if everyone took things literally, had trouble lying, & couldn’t read social cues? There’d be less conniving, less of the stuff the show loves to highlight. But I think there’d be more real cooperation & stuff. It could be quite interesting.
Ad-driven social media platforms are willing to tolerate monumental volumes of abusive users. They’ve discovered the same thing the Mainstream Media did: negative emotions grip people’s attention harder than positive ones. Hate and fear drives engagement, and engagement drives ad impressions. #Mastodon is not an ad-driven platform. There is absolutely zero incentives to let awful people run amok in the name of engagement. @malwaretech@infosec.exchange My microcosmic validation of this is my wife asking 2-3 times in the past month if I’m aware of [something negative driving engagement] and my response has been ‘Nope, I don’t see anyone sharing that on the #Fediverse.’ I still use #BigMammoth (thx to @jensorensen@mastodon.social for that 😆) to keep up on politics daily so I’m aware of what’s going on.
