#GodzillaMinusOne lived up to the hype. In the first 10 minutes I thought it might be the best opening of any #Gojira #film but by the end it became The Best Godzilla #Movie Ever.

Most #kaiju #movies focus on the action and other cool stuff but this one made him terrifying on a human level. I got jolted repeatedly when he attacked, it felt so visceral.

The bar has been reset, and I’m dying to see what comes next.

Sooooooo I stopped taking my #ADHD meds almost 2 weeks ago. I was feeling less & less motivated over time and running more on autopilot; I realized that happened slowly over the last 2 years. Without the #adderall my mind is a lot fuzzier, my #timeBlindness is raging, and my short-term #memory is Fd – but I also feel happier and more present. The only negative is I actually get irritated and/or crabby now, but it’s on me to be aware of my feelings.

This is my favorite #quote from #JosephCampbell (and one of my favorite #quotes, period). It made me think much more deeply about #mythology and its’ purpose, as well as its’ relevance to life and humanity (and, of course, myself). Modern life is so distracting; it’s hard to be truly connected with ourselves. Maybe mythology is a solution. People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances within our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive. That’s what it’s all finally about, and that’s what these clues help us to find within ourselves. Joseph Campbell #wisdom

O M G this looks emotional and compelling. The first movie blew my mind so much that I didn’t even notice that #MilesMorales did not have his tragedy yet. Not only does the #animation look gorgeous but now the whole chased by the League of Spider-people (I just made that up AND said it in Lucas Lee’s voice) thing makes more sense. Looks like this one will live up to the first #movie (which I saw 3x in the theatre) and I MUST see it in #IMAX again. Interestingly, YouTube served up the #Indian #trailer for me first and there are some HUGE differences compared to the US version. They focused completely on drama, with a couple of laughs thrown in. No mention of The Spot. And tied it into the live action movies to clue newcomers in. They know what sells in #Bollywood! Just finished #debriefing myself after my trip to the allergist and this is part of my #notes. I’ve been an inveterate note-taker for years and discovered #PKM (Personal Knowledge Management) last year while searching for #ADHD oriented methods of organization & productivity. That led me to the amazing #Obsidian app (which is shockingly free for being fully featured), which took my note-taking to another level. I do gain some satisfaction from creating informative visuals 🙂

  1. @ArpComics It’s not easy for Toho. Godzilla’s box office was diminishing in the Heisei era. They called their 2004 movie “Final Wars” which they thought there won’t be any new stories anymore.

    It’s until 2014 Hollywood made a reboot, and Hideaki Anno also made his own “Shin Godzilla”, which finally revitalize the whole series. This is only the 2nd Japanese Godzilla after Final Wars.
