O M G this looks emotional and compelling. The first movie blew my mind so much that I didn’t even notice that #MilesMorales did not have his tragedy yet. Not only does the #animation look gorgeous but now the whole chased by the League of Spider-people (I just made that up AND said it in Lucas Lee’s voice) thing makes more sense. Looks like this one will live up to the first #movie (which I saw 3x in the theatre) and I MUST see it in #IMAX again. Interestingly, YouTube served up the #Indian #trailer for me first and there are some HUGE differences compared to the US version. They focused completely on drama, with a couple of laughs thrown in. No mention of The Spot. And tied it into the live action movies to clue newcomers in. They know what sells in #Bollywood! One thing that really bugs me about #ChatGPT and #LLMs for #copywriting is they’ve been trained on a web full of crap articles written for #SEO purposes by people in #India who write in a forced style of conversational English. (NB: I’m #IndianAmerican.) Their writing is oddly long with way too many filler phrases and ChatGPT copies this garbage to a T. The second I see any sentence online start with ‘As you know…’ or some other filler garbage I know where it originated. Granted, how #Indians write English is just a variant of the garbage academic writing style in the US, which uses different and snootier filler phrases with even longer sentences. It’s writing meant to impress someone for a grade or a pat on the back, and it took me a couple of decades to write more concisely & to the point. I just wish I could figure ...
Have you read this? It made me wonder how I managed to adult in the minimal capacity I could in my 20s & on – which consisted, tbh, in drinking too much #alcohol (a source of #dopamine & lowered #anxiety). I have watched too much #Survivor in my life. It’s a guilty pleasure 🫣. But learning I have #adhd made me realize that I would SUCK at it cuz I can’t play the social game. But how would Survivor go if ALL contestants were #neurodiverse? What if everyone took things literally, had trouble lying, & couldn’t read social cues? There’d be less conniving, less of the stuff the show loves to highlight. But I think there’d be more real cooperation & stuff. It could be quite interesting.
One benefit of #thrifting is finding stuff I like that I would never have buying new since I don’t shop for clothes anymore. We found a pair of #LuckyBrand #pants in my size and I now have a favorite brand of pants. They’re straight leg, soft (kinda like brushed twill), stretchy (but don’t look like stretchy plastic), and so light and comfortable that it barely felt that I had pants on. Their only flaw is a lack of a dedicated celphone pocket, but I still want a few pairs for regular use. And since we were in the mall yesterday as our 18yo looked for places to apply for jobs, I noticed that straight leg & boot cut pants are back, and many have celphone pockets. I need to stock up on those for the next 25y before they go out of style again.
